Each Sunset Ink artist is a master of their discipline, vetted for excellence, and fully briefed on the unique considerations of mature skin. They have all, at some point, been told a piece was "too ambitious." They find that motivating.
Margaret "Two-Sleeve" Holloway

A retired 4th-grade art teacher who discovered traditional Japanese tattooing at 71. Margaret has since completed three full body suits on clients ranging in age from 68 to 91. Her waiting list is 4 years. She is completely booked and taking inquiries anyway.
Desmond Kauffman

Former cardiologist. Retired at 67. Took up tattooing as a hobby. Now internationally regarded as one of the top portrait artists in the Western hemisphere. His medical background gives him, in his words, "a professional relationship with the human body that most tattoo artists simply lack."
Loretta Vásquez

Loretta spent 40 years as a landscape architect before pivoting to tattooing at 63. Her pieces, which average 12 hours and frequently cover entire limbs, have been featured in three publications her children refuse to look at. She prefers clients "who have lived in their bodies long enough to know what they want in them."
Captain "Steady Hand" Norris
American Traditional / Maritime · Newport, RI
A former merchant marine captain who tattooed his own crew for 30 years before opening a studio. Now 74, Norris specializes in "the kind of tattoo your doctor will absolutely ask you about." His flash sheets are certified museum-quality. He still has steadier hands than most artists half his age, and he will tell you so.
